WMA Karate Tae Kwon Do classes are taught by Howard Latting, who holds a 7th degree black belt with the World Martial Arts Association (WMAA). Howard has been practicing for more than 40 years, and has taught thousands of students throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan professionally for the last 25 years, including the Lower Manhattan Youth Program, Trevor Day School, The Dalton School, and The Collegiate School.
WMA Karate was created, and nurtured, out of the love for the practice of the martial arts and traditions from around the world to foster health and wellness.
What started as a Tae Kwon Do exclusive studio now includes Taijiquan and other martial arts, seminars and workshops, and self defense training. We take a comprehensive approach to connect the mind and body for a well-rounded result.
WMA Karate offers personalized attention and unlimited classes for our members. We pride ourselves on helping each student reach their goals. The classes are structured and demanding, with an emphasis on focus and precision. Families report that their children develop confidence along with their Karate skills. The atmosphere helps to motivate students of all ages to perform better in other endeavors, including schoolwork and vocational pursuits. WMA Karate is affiliated with the World Martial Arts Association, providing promotion tests, tournaments, and training excursions to upstate New York.
